Player notes
A few useful answers.
Can I swap Release and Banish?
The upcoming update adds Button Layout in Settings and Pause. Choose Release/Banish or Banish/Release, read left to right. The choice saves on your device and applies to Campaign and Boss Rush. The buttons stay below the playfield. These controls are not yet in published 0.23.8 packages.
How many powerups can fall at once?
The upcoming update caps uncollected Boons and Curses at four together. Seal drops stop while full; boss supply waits until a slot opens. Queued Breaker powers and starter Gifts are separate. Older saves keep their already-falling drops until collected or gone. Published 0.23.8 packages retain the earlier limit.
Will the game prompt me about updates?
The 0.23.8 Play bundle/code 66 includes optional Google Play updates. This first integration update must be installed through Google Play; later eligible versions can offer Update / Later on the Main Menu, download in the background, and offer a restart after saving. The prompt stays out of combat and offline play continues. Direct-install APKs use manual updates. Update service privacy details.
Can I make the text larger?
Open Settings → Accessibility and choose Small, Medium or Large. Small is the default. Pause → Text Size offers the same saved setting during a run. Menus and Gift cards wrap and scroll; powerup labels also enlarge. Combat geometry stays the same. Pause lists all active powers if the HUD is cycling through them.
Can I change the frame rate?
Netherglass defaults to 60 FPS. Open Settings and select FRAME RATE to switch to 30 FPS or back to 60. The choice is saved on your device. Ball speed and power durations stay the same; Reduced Motion is a separate option.
Where can I check my build’s effects?
The ability guide matches the current published game catalog, including ball powers, recipes, Vows, Shrine training and Prestige. In-game Field Notes explains the rules included in your installed build.
Does Netherglass need an Internet connection?
The 0.23.8-playtest APK/code 65 and Play bundle/code 66 support offline gameplay, are ad-free, and have no Internet permission. The Play bundle’s update SDK communicates through Google Play’s own processes when available; its metadata handling is described in the privacy policy. Historical full offline builds remain separate. A future commercial edition is intended to retain offline combat and local saves; buying/restoring or verifying a license and choosing optional ads would need a connection. Verified ownership is intended to be cached for offline play.
What is included in the playtest?
The published 0.23.8 playtest includes five Campaign regions through Encounter 25, without ads, ad offers or purchases. Unlocking higher difficulties requires a Standard Region V clear for Challenging, then a Challenging Region V clear for Netherglass. Rewards are saved before the thank-you screen. Website download links are currently unavailable. Historical full-game builds remain separate.
How will the full-game purchase work?
A future commercial free edition is planned with an optional US$4.99 one-time full-game unlock through Google Play, with localized prices. Its exact free-content limit will be stated with that release. Full-game owners will receive no ads. Restoration would restore the license, not local saves. Billing and ads are not installed in the current audited builds; there is no in-game checkout yet.
Will I have to watch ads?
No. The planned ads are optional Campaign rewards after defeat or final run rewards, never automatic interruptions. Eligible free players can skip them and keep normal rewards. Full-game owners receive the equivalent optional benefits without ads. Ads and their SDKs are not present in the current offline build.
What is the purchase refund policy?
Purchases are not active in the current builds or playtest. When offered, all IAPs, including the Full Game unlock, are non-refundable after 48 hours, except where applicable law or Google Play’s terms or decisions provide otherwise. Within 48 hours you can request review; approval is not automatic. See the Refund Policy for the complete rule, exceptions and request instructions, and the Terms of Service for game access terms.
Does non-personalized advertising mean no data collection?
No. A future advertising or consent SDK may process identifiers, IP-derived region, interactions or diagnostics, including during initialization or preloading. Actual processing, providers and choices must be disclosed before activation. There is no advertising/consent SDK in the current game or playtest. See future-service privacy details.
How do I reset my game data?
Use Settings → Reset Journey and confirm both warnings to reset your profile and runs. To remove all local app storage, including diagnostic logs, use Android Settings → Apps → Netherglass → Storage → Clear storage/data. These actions erase progress.
Will my playtest progress survive an update?
Compatible updates installed over the same Netherglass app are designed to keep local progress while its data remains installed. Keep the app and its data; uninstalling, clearing storage or Reset Journey can erase progress. There is no studio cloud-save service or remote copy we can restore.
What is the difference between an APK and an app bundle?
An APK can be installed on a compatible Android device. An Android App Bundle (.aab) is uploaded by the publisher to Google Play Console; Google Play then delivers the app to testers or players. An AAB does not install directly.
Where can I read the app’s privacy policy?
The Netherglass privacy policy is a public HTML page. It explains local saves, optional support messages, Google Play diagnostics, data retention, and your choices.
Upcoming accessibility update: Overflowing menus and lists show a high-contrast scrollbar on the right. Medium and Large text keep scrollable menus; combat controls retain their positions.
Upcoming Gift bans and rewards
Edict of Exclusion unlocks after Region V. Each purchased rank grants one ban per Campaign run. Ban appears below Reroll on eligible Gift screens: choose one offered Gift to exclude it for this run, or Cancel without spending. Continue preserves committed bans; a new run starts clean. Boss Rush and permanent Memory choices cannot be banned. See the screen references and updated ability guide.
Eligible fusion recipes can appear after a region’s fourth numbered chamber, with 2:1 fusion-category odds when both categories have choices. Bonus Vaults do not advance this count. Boss Gift upgrades are Greater Blessings only, with a separate Memory choice at Boss VI and a separate Rush build step.
